With the popularity of letterpress printing soaring, this exhibition captured the cutting-edge spirit and innovation of the people who are redefining the art and craft of fine printing. This exhibition showcased original work printed at the San Francisco Center for the Book. Curator Katherine Case chose posters, poetry broadsides, advertisements, stationery, artists' books, postcards and more. Some were printed by newcomers to the letterpress world, graduates of our introductory courses who are just beginning to print solo. Others are the work of more established artisans, using the Center's presses and platemaking equipment.
