Oct 1, 2007—Tickets on Sale Now for '07 San Francisco Center for the Book Gala Dinner and Auction The San Francisco Center
for the Book (SFCB) is pleased to announce it will host the 4th annual Gala
Dinner and Auction on Friday, November 2, from 6:30-10:00 pm. All proceeds
from this event will benefit programs at the San Francisco Center for the
Book. This annual event is SFCB's largest fundraising event of the year.
2006
Aug 21, 2006—SFCB Hosts Third Annual Block Party: Roadworks: Steamroller Prints The San Francisco Center for the
Book (SFCB) hosts its third annual block party, Roadworks: Steamroller
Prints on Saturday, September 16, 2006 at DeHaro between 16th and 17th
Streets, 10:00am-4:00pm.
This free event brings local artists and the
community together to create unique large linocut prints that are inked and
pressed by a two ton steamroller. The original prints will be auctioned at
the Center's 10th Anniversary dinner on Friday, September 29th at Bistro
300.
Jul 17, 2006—SFCB Presents X Libris The San Francisco Center for the
Book hosts X Libris,the Center's Tenth Anniversary exhibition.
The exhibit provides
insight into the broad range of expression possible in book form.
Jul 13, 2006—SFCB Renames Gallery "Austin/Burch" The San Francisco Center for the
Book renames its gallery the "Austin/Burch Gallery" in honor of the
Center's founders Mary Austin and Kathleen Burch. The newly-named gallery
will open with the Center's ten year anniversary exhibition,
X Libris, on Friday, July 28th.
Jun 12, 2006—SFCB Presents Found In Translation The San Francisco Center for the Book presents "Found in Translation," an interactive exhibition in the Center's gallery through July 21, 2006.
Jan 27, 2006—SFCB Presents Photo Books Now The San Francisco Center for the Book
(SFCB) hosts "Photo Books Now" an exhibition examining the reinvention of
photography and the photographic book in the 21st century, February 3
through April 7, 2006. Join the Center for an opening night reception on
February 3, 2006, 6-8pm.
2005
Dec 1, 2005—SFCB Hosts The PCBA Calendar Exhibition The San Francisco Center for the Book
(SFCB) hosts the 2006 Pacific Center for the Book Arts (PCBA) Calendar
Exhibition. Join the Center on December, 9, 2005 for the opening of the
exhibition and a special reception for the calendar artists from 6-9pm.
Whimsical calendars designed and created by contemporary book artists will
be available for purchase.
Nov 1, 2005—SFCB Presents 50 Books/50 Covers The San Francisco Center for the Book
(SFCB) hosts "50 Books/50 Covers" a lively, informative exhibition of the
nation's best designed books and book covers, November 4 through December
2, 2005. Join the Center for an opening night reception on November 4,
2005, 6pm-8pm.
Oct 18, 2005—SFCB Presents an Evening of Experimental Visual Poetry The San Francisco Center for the
Book hosts "Poets Pulling Prints," an evening of visual and experimental
poetry writing with Scott Helmes and Spencer Selby. Join the Center on
Friday, October 28th, 2005 at 7:00pm for this free event.

16th, 10:00am-4:00pm. The Center's major annual fundraiser and block party
brings local artists and the community together to create 3 feet by 3 feet
linocut prints that are inked and pressed by a two ton steamroller. The
prints will be auctioned at a silent auction party from 4:30pm-7:30pm.
Aug 25, 2005—San Francisco Artists Help Preserve the Book Arts The San Francisco Center for the
Book (SFCB), today announced 23 local community artists will come together
to help raise awareness for the book arts at the Center's second annual
fundraiser, Roadworks: Steamroller Prints, on Saturday, September 24, 2005
at Carolina Street between 15th and 16th, 10:00am-4:00pm.

Jun 28, 2005—SFCB Presents Two Private Collections of Rubber Stamp Art The San Francisco Center for the
Book hosts "Multiplicity for Millions: the Art and History of Rubber
Stamps," an exhibit featuring more than 80 vintage and contemporary rubber
stamp sets from the private collections of L.Scott Helmes and Picasso
Gaglione. Beginning August 12 through October 28, 2005, the free exhibit
will examine the art and history of this deceptively simple form of
printmaking. In addition, the center will host a reception for the fabulous
exhibit on August 19th, 2005, 6-8pm.
