Imagine a youthful Gabriel driving a sports car, seducing a girl called Mary down by the seashore and forgetting to use any protection in the heat of the moment.  Maria pairs author Enrico Palandri's retelling of a religious text with artist Déirdre Kelly's hand-colored illuminations and traditional typography.  The result is a contemporary Book of Hours that is both an object of interest and a vessel for the text.
