How Birds Sing by Kay Ryan & Tucker Nichols is part of our Small Plates series published by the Imprint of the San Francisco Center for the Book. The book includes a poem by Ryan and whimsical images by Nichols, it is letterpress printed and hand bound. In July, 2008, the U.S. Library of Congress announced that Ryan is the sixteenth Poet Laureate of the United States for a one year term commencing in Autumn 2008.
