Acknowledgements

An exhibition of children's books had long been a goal of Center co-founder Kathleen Burch, who provided much of the inspiration for mounting this show. "Show Me a Story" was conceived by Steve Woodall, with a great deal of help from a committee which included Kathleen Burch, Cathy Miranker, Maribeth Back, and Michael Carabetta.

Curatorial

The antique and contemporary books were selected and documented by Marie Dern and Linda K. Smith; Marie Dern designed and installed the display.

Andrew Baron designed and installed the Knick-Knack Paddywhack! display.

Maribeth Back designed and installed the electronic reading devices from The Reading Lab.

Support

Our very special thanks to the Raymond Family Foundation for their generous support of this exhibition; to Grants for the Arts, San Francisco Hotel Tax Fund; and to Mills College for funding and for providing a second venue (look for a slightly different presentation of this show there in January).

Special thanks

For the loan of books — Kate Sterling, Joanne Page, Janice Braun of Mills College, Bee Thorpe, Maria Winkler, Charles Hobson, and artists whose work we borrowed.

To Carol Barton for her vast network of connections in the movable book community.

To Paul O. Zelinsky for the loan of original artwork.

To Laurie Szujewska for providing the brochure and logo design, and to Juan Leguizamon for his illustrations for the brochure and invitation.

To Marie Dern, Linda K. Smith, Maribeth Back, and Andrew Baron for contributing their time and effort.

To our volunteer coordinator, Katherine Case and to our volunteers: Juan Leguizamon, Caroline Park, Anjel Van Slyke, Maia de Raat, Sonja Hernandez, Brad Robinson, and Fred Rinne.
