Gouache on pony vellum (31-1/4 x 41-1/2 inches) After years of turning other people's texts into calligraphic art, Nicky conjured his own words for this work. Fascinated by what he calls "beautiful imperfections" in medieval manuscripts, he opted to use the full skin as his canvas so he could incorporate the flaws in the pony vellum.
